小伙伴们注意了： DigitalOcean 变更了优惠码和额度使用期限的规定

条款变更后：
Promotional Credit
5.8 As of March 6, 2015, redemption of promotional credit is limited to 12 months from the date of issue (unless otherwise stated), at which time the credit will expire. Upon redemption, promotional credit expires after 12 months unless otherwise defined in the terms of the promotion. For instances where promotional credit was issued or redeemed prior to March 6, 2015, that credit will expire on March 6, 2016.
5.9 Only one promotional code is permitted per customer, and may be redeemed only by “new users,” defined as users who are within 30 days of launching their first Droplet.
Referral Credit
5.10 Earned credit from making a referral will not expire. All referral payouts will be paid in DigitalOcean credit.
5.11 Sign-up credit earned via referral will expire in accordance with the terms stated in section 5.8. Furthermore, such credit will be counted as the one promotional code permitted, in accordance with the terms stated in section 5.9.

I found that you've updated the terms of use 5.8-5.11 and I got 2 questions to ask u.

1. I am a student and I just got a code of student pack from Github which contains 100USD but I don't want to use it right now, will this code be expired after 1 year?

2. I got this code from Github and I've used it 1 month ago, does it mean I have to use the Promotional Credit up in 11 months or I can't use any credit left from 100USD of that code anymore after 11 months?

Looking forward to your reply ASAP.

Hello,

Allow me to clarify these changes for you:

1) That is correct; if you do not redeem the credit, it will expire in one year from the issue date.

2) If you received the promo prior to March 6, 2015, then you will be given a full year from this later date, rather than the date of issue (it will expire in March 2016).

1.如果你手中有优惠码，必须在一年以内使用，否则作废；
2.如果你的优惠码已经使用并产生了额度，必须一年以内使用完毕（15年3月6日之前的要在16年3月6日之前使用完毕；15年3月6日之后的要在一年以内使用完毕），否则剩余额度作废。

吐槽：
DO果然不是吃素的，我刚在Github上拿到了100USD的优惠码就看到这条噩耗，本来想留着开最低配置的主机慢慢用着，这下倒好，一年以内要兑换，并且一年以内要用完100刀，关键我在别家的主机还要19个月才到期呢，到时候只能同时开两台主机，奢侈~
想必这条款是专门用来对付Github的吧？滥用的冒领的太多，玩烂了吧？

There has been a response to your ticket:
Hello,
Fortunately, there has been another change which applies only to the Github promo code and that's what you have on your account providing you the $100 credit. This promo credit is actually valid for 24 months rather than 12 months so I think you'll be fine. The 24 months will be counted from March 2015, therefore you have until March 2017. Please let us know if you need additional help with this ticket.
